What a great bike week at the Ulster Grand Prix for the Metzelers!
Despite the wet and windy conditions led to the cancellation of both the main Superbike race and Supersport Race 2 performances were kept high by our riders.
Guy Martin edged out Bruce Anstey in a thrilling Superbike race at Thursday’s Dundrod 150 meeting: Lincolnshire rider Martin passed Anstey early on the final lap as he won by .24 of a second, followed in fourth and sixth positions by Dean Harrison and William Dunlop. On the same day the promising Englishman James Cowton was implacable and won the Dundrod 150 National and lightweight events.
Great start also on Saturday in the first Superstock race when our Metzelers, Dan Kneen and Dean Harrison, both got on the podium, respectively first and second place. It was probably the most breathtaking race of the week where Kneen won his first Ulster Grand Prix by just 0.001 over Harrison! Astonishing results also on Saturday for Guy Martin, the Tyco Suzuki’s champion, who climbed the podium with a second place, in the Superbike class and a third place in the Supersport;
Last but not least, our Ivan Lintin, for the second year in a row, won the Supertwins race with the Lincolnshire rider leading the race from start to finish to take the win by almost 15 seconds from Derek McGee and James Cowton, also Metzeler tyred, despite conditions were the worst they’d been all day.
Hope to see you all next year, supporting the Metzeler team and all the riders, that every year make the World’s Fastest Road Race!
