Check out the latest news from the NW200!
It was a very exciting start in Northern Ireland for the first North West 200 races. The man of the day is Alastair Seeley. The Carrickfergus rider of Tyco Suzuki won the Supersport race for the 6th time in his history tooking his 13th NW200 victory by over. He also set a new lap record of 117.077mph. Michael Dunlop arrived in the second place with a gap of 7 seconds from the winner. Lee Johnston finished third.
Ryan Farquhar took his fifth victory
in the Supertwin category after a fight in the final lap with his SGS International/KMR Kawasaki team-mate Jeremy McWilliams. A brilliant Jamie Hamilton conquered a great podium with his Cookstown/Burrows Enginwering Kawasaki. It’s a shame that Martin Jessopp was hit by a sixty second penalty for jumping the start.
In Superstock race Sandor Bitter crashed at Ballysally roundabout on the opening lap. The rider was ok but he was taken to the Causeway hospital for a check up. After the red flag there wasn’t time to restart the race before the sunshine. The race will come back Saturday.
